Your coaches want to teach you more than just cheerleading. Coaching is more than just a love for one sport, it is an opportunity to shape, influence and guide athletes and cheerleading is the vehicle to do so. We love our cheer families and want to instill positive life skills, values and characteristics in our athletes. Coaching cheerleading gives us the opportunity to demonstrate these things while also teaching a sport we are so passionate about.
Your coaches care about you and your life. Even when you aren't in the gym, we think about you. We wish for you to be happy and successful in all aspects of your life, not just cheer. We want to see you be a well rounded and confident individual. We hope that being successful in cheer will give you the self esteem, relationships and tools to carry out a positive lifestyle.
Your coaches want a relationship with you. Not only do we care about what goes on in your life, we want to be apart of it. No matter how long it has been since you cheered, your coaches will always want to keep in touch with you. You never truly leave your cheer family.
The greatest gift you can give your coach is to refer new athletes to the program in which you love. It means a lot to us that what we did made a difference in your life, and you wanted someone else to experience that as well.
A coach never wants to be responsible for an athlete failing or quitting. We have the best intentions to push, motivate and guide you into being the best person and athlete that you can be. We only want to work with our athletes and families to make this a positive experience for everyone.
The best athletes are not always the ones with a natural talent. The best athletes have the best work ethic and attitude. This positivity and motivation enables students to take the coach's instructions and apply direction!
We only want you to succeed, in every aspect of your life. I know cheerleading coaches can be tough and critical in this sport that demands perfection from an entire team, but we only want to keep our students progressing and motivated. We know all of the blood, sweat and tears that you each put into your training and we only hope that this makes you a stronger athlete and individual. You are better for it and we tough love you!!!
We have bad days like everyone else and the point is that we learn, continue to grow and move forward. We try our best to be conscious of our mistakes and accountable to the team if we are more negative that we intended, please know that we do our very best to come into practice with a fresh start every day. Just like we expect you to do.
We put in just as much time and energy into your routines and season as you do. We are equally invested in your team and feel the defeat and success just as much as you. We are in this together!
We need you to always think of your team above yourself. We cannot express enough how invested we are and how much we care. We love each of our students individually, but need to lead the team as a whole. In order for us to make your team successful, you need to view yourself as "the team" and not an individual. While every athlete is different and unique, we cannot think of any one athlete individually. Decisions must be made in regards to the entire team.
Here at Extreme Cheer Sensation, we want to have a well rounded program that teaches students about more than just cheerleading. We are a very competitive gym and push to succeed at every competition, but we also have the opportunity to teach these athletes about teamwork, communication, commitment, sportsmanship, selflessness and determination. We value the time we have with our cheerleaders and look forward to implementing these values in a stronger way throughout their season. We will be explaining our hopes and plans for our upcoming season in our blog posts up until tryouts for season four on August 8, 2015!
